As the name, “all together”, suggests, Copain’s Tous Ensemble series offers a perfect complement to any gathering, from a casual meal to an impromptu party. Approachable, balanced and ready to drink, these wines pair beautifully with almost any food, any day of the week. Tous Ensemble wines reflect a classic blend of fruit sourced from select vineyards throughout Mendocino County.
The Les Voisins (“the neighbors”) range was inspired by a cluster of neighboring Pinot Noir vineyards in the Deep End of Anderson Valley. Simultaneously, Wells Guthrie was farming a handful of vineyards planted to Syrah in Yorkville Highlands. Each vineyard was producing outstanding fruit, yet Wells made a surprising discovery: when fruit from the neighboring vineyards was blended together, the resulting wine was remarkable, clearly meriting its own bottling. Launched with the 2009 vintage, each Les Voisins wine is a poignant reflection of the nuanced terroir from which it hails: the Pinot Noir from the Deep End of Anderson Valley, and Syrah from Yorkville Highlands. In the tradition of “village” wines in Burgundy, these expressive, sophisticated wines do, indeed, reflect their pedigree.
The limited production Estate series provides a forum for Wells Guthrie to explore unusual varietals and unique winemaking methods. Primarily grown on the hillside vineyards surrounding our winery in Russian River valley, the Estate wines offer an opportunity for curious wine drinkers to experience non-traditional varietals rarely produced beyond French borders.
Coveted long before they are consumed, our Single Vineyard wines are as individual as the passionate wine drinkers who collect them. Each wine reflects a single moment in the life of a specific vineyard, during which both the land and the fruit have been painstakingly cared for. Among our sustainably-farmed vineyard sites, only a handful have earned the distinction of a Single Vineyard bottling. While exquisite now, the Single Vineyard wines are crafted to be savored years after their release.
